This Privacy Policy describes how Hydro Habit ("we", "us") processes personal data when you use our mobile application and related services. It is written with users in the Netherlands and the wider European Economic Area in mind and reflects the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG / GDPR).
The organisation responsible for your personal data is the entity operating the Hydro Habit service ("Controller"). For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at niels@jjitstudio.com or via Help & Support in the app.
We may process: account and profile details (such as name, email address, country, language, gender if provided, body weight if provided, and profile photo if you upload one); hydration logs (volumes, beverage types, timestamps, and timezone or locale settings you send with logs); device and technical data needed to run the app (such as device type, OS version, app version, and push notification tokens if you enable reminders); usage and diagnostics data to maintain security and improve the service; advertising-related identifiers if ads are shown (see section 9); and payment-related identifiers if you make in-app purchases (handled by Apple, Google, and/or our payment partners according to their policies).
We use your data to provide and secure the service (performance of a contract and legitimate interests); to send optional reminders you configure (consent or legitimate interests, depending on your settings and platform rules); to display advertisements where applicable (consent or legitimate interests, depending on your choices and applicable law); to comply with legal obligations; and to analyse aggregated trends to improve the app (legitimate interests, using minimal personal data where possible).
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Hydration and account data are typically kept while your account is active and for a limited period afterwards for backup, dispute resolution, and legal compliance, then deleted or anonymised.
We may share data with hosting and infrastructure providers, customer email and notification services, analytics tools, and advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) under strict agreements. Some providers may be located outside the EEA; where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Under the AVG / GDPR you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, and data portability, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP).
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your device updated.
The service is not directed at children under 16 (or a higher age if required locally). If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.
The app may display advertisements through Google AdMob. Depending on your consent choices (shown via the consent flow where required under EU rules), ads may be personalized or non-personalized. Google and its partners may process device identifiers and similar technical data as described in Google's privacy policy. You can change your preferences through the in-app consent flow or your device settings.
You can delete your account from Profile in the app. We will anonymise your account and remove related hydration data from active systems within a reasonable time, except where we must retain data by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at this public URL and in the app.
